APIS: International Medical Coordination for Proton and Carbon Ion Therapy

What Information Do Korean Hospitals Need for Review?

To review an international patient’s case, Korean hospitals generally need information about the diagnosis, treatment history, and current condition.

For an initial inquiry, the requested information may include:

  • A physician’s note or medical summary, including the diagnosis and treatment history
  • Relevant pathology reports, laboratory results, and imaging reports
  • Patient identification information, including a passport copy if required for hospital registration

If the case proceeds to further hospital review, CT, MRI, or PET-CT imaging files in DICOM format may be requested. Additional documents may be requested depending on the clinical situation and the hospital’s review process.

Providing documents for review does not imply treatment eligibility or acceptance. Final treatment decisions are determined solely by the treating hospitals and physicians.
