What Is a Preliminary Case Review?
A preliminary case review is an early step before a formal hospital consultation.
At this stage, APIS first reviews the available information to understand the diagnosis, treatment history, current condition, and possible relevance to Korean treatment options.
Based on this initial screening, APIS may identify which Korean hospital appears most relevant for the case and contact that hospital’s international office to check whether further review or appointment coordination may be possible.
This preliminary step is not a formal medical consultation and does not determine treatment eligibility.
If the case proceeds to further hospital review, CT, MRI, or PET-CT imaging files in DICOM format may be requested.
A formal consultation may then take place online or in person, depending on the hospital’s policy, the patient’s condition, and the clinical situation.
A preliminary review does not guarantee formal consultation, treatment eligibility, or hospital acceptance.
* Final treatment decisions are determined solely by the treating hospitals and physicians.
